Designed to move between roles, this circa-1970s table adjusts from a 21.5-inch coffee-table height to a 25-inch side or occasional-table height, then folds to a slim 10-inch depth for storage. Its 30-inch-square surface offers useful scale without giving up flexibility.
That adaptability is matched by a striking dimensional surface: contrasting wood tones form a precise field of interlocking marquetry cubes, framed above sculptural crossed supports and gently upturned feet. Across the square top, light, medium, and dark wood tones create an optical pattern that shifts between flat geometry and three-dimensional form, surrounded by a warm brown perimeter.
The combination of geometric mixed-wood marquetry, organic curved supports, and portable construction is closely related to documented Mexican Modern furniture by Don Shoemaker for Señal. This table is unmarked and is presented in the manner of Don Shoemaker only.

Condition
Good vintage condition with visible wear consistent with age and use. The top shows scattered scratches, small abrasions, pinpoint marks, and variation to the finish. The perimeter has rubbing, small compressed or chipped areas, and localized edge and corner wear. The base shows scuffs, abrasions, darker marks, and finish loss, particularly toward the feet. The table opens, closes, adjusts, and stands correctly.
