A striking set of six mid-20th-century dining chairs featuring tall, gently curved upholstered backs, saber-form legs, and elegant Neoclassical detailing. Their Directoire-style silhouette is finished in aged ivory with gold accents, creating a refined decorative presence suited to Hollywood Regency, Neoclassical, Empire-inspired, and eclectic interiors.

Classical floral rosettes and symmetrical foliate metal appliqués provide contrast against the painted wood frames. Because the exact metal composition has not been independently verified, the embellishments are described as brass-tone rather than solid brass.

The existing ivory and gilt finish was intentionally preserved instead of completely refinished. A professional wood finisher performed localized touch-ups to minimize the most prominent imperfections while retaining the chairs’ vintage character, patina, and tonal variation.

All six chairs were professionally reupholstered in brown cotton fabric with matching welted edges, and the seat padding was replaced. The frames are firm, stable, and ready for use.

Condition

Good vintage condition with professional upholstery work and localized finish touch-ups. The existing ivory and gilt finish shows age-related wear, including scattered scuffs, small finish losses, surface marks, patina, and tonal variation. The brown cotton upholstery is clean and presentable, with minor natural irregularities along some welted edges. Condition varies slightly from chair to chair.

The precise maker, wood species, country of origin, and metal composition have not been confirmed. The chairs are estimated to date to the mid-20th century based on their construction and design.
